The 1st Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival, from 14 – 16 January 2019, in Gia Nghia town, Dak Nong province is the convergence of multi-color brocade patterns of ethnic communities throughout the country and other similar culture countries. The event attracted the participation of 17 provinces, 3 national geoparks and 3 neighboring countries, such as Laos, Indonesia and Cambodia to perform traditional art; exhibit and promote typical products as well as traditional cuisine. In particular, the traditional art performance program and brocade-application fashion show…. with a joyful and colorful atmosphere contributed to attracting and creating deep impressions on a large number of visitors.
Within the festival, the Management Board of Dak Nong Geopark invited Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark (Ha Giang province), Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark (Cao Bang province), Ly Son-Sa Huynh National Geopark (Quang Ngai province) to joint-exhibit at the booth of Vietnam National Geoparks Network. With featured products and publication introducing typical features of each geopark, the booth attracted nearly 300 students and more than 1,000 visitors to visit and purchase products such as souvenirs from brocade of ethnic groups in Cao Bang province; Ly Son garlic (Quang Ngai province); honey, avocado oil, piny bitter gourd oil, lemongrass oil, maccadamia, pepper .. (Dak Nong province). The exhibition of Vietnam National Geoparks Network in the 1st Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival greatly contributed to promoting and raising public awareness on different heritage types within the geoparks’ areas and the building process of National Geoparks Network in Vietnam.
