Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Road is part of a transportation system in the North-South logistics organization during the Vietnam war. Having a petrol pipeline along it, the road also functioned as the conduit for military equipment to the battlefields and the route for sending southward Northern Vietnam’s troops, cadres and documents and vice versa. The National Historical Vestige Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Road has 37 visiting places, which are located in 11 provinces, including Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dac Lac, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc.
In the Krong No – Dak Nong Volcano Geological Park, the typical relics of the Special National Vestige Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Road are:
1. The contact point for Ho Chi Minh road’s obstruction clearance for the section from the Southern Central Highlands to the East side of the Northeastern Mekong Delta (8th village, Nam Binh commune, Dak Song district; Cay Xoai hamlet, Dong Tien village, Gia Nghia town)
2. Pu Prang, in Dak Huyt hamlet, Quang Truc commune, Tuy Duc district.
On December 12th 2013, with Decision no. 2383/QĐ-TTg, the National Historical Vestige Truong Son Road – Ho Chi Minh Road was recognized a Special National Vestige by the Prime Minister.
