From September 5-11, 2022, the delegation of Dak Nong province led by Comrade Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Provincial Member – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee – Director of Dak Nong Geopark Management Body attended the Conference on Public Network. The 7th Asia-Pacific Global Geological Network (APGN7) in Satun, Thailand. There were more than 500 delegates (including 350 in person and 200 online), scientists, geopark managers, and government agencies from more than 500 countries. 60 countries in the world came to attend the conference.
As a new member to the Geopark Network, in addition to actively participating in activities within the framework of the Conference, the delegation of Dak Nong province actively researched, met and connected with members of the regional network to expand international cooperation and exchange.
At the APGN7 Conference, the representative of Dak Nong UGGP – Ms. Tran Nhi Bach Van delivered the presentation “Volcanic wonders and volcanic caves of Dak Nong UNESCO Geopark” to introduce the local heritages unique qualities of Dak Nong UNESCO Geopark. At the same time, demonstrating the efforts of the authorities and people of Dak Nong province in preserving and promoting geological heritage values. This is also one of the key tasks of the mission to promote and attract experts and scientists to register to participate in the 20th International Conference on Volcanic Caves (ISV20) organized by Dak Nong province. Hosted in November 2022.

Also on this occasion, the delegation had contact with Presidents of National Networks (Japan, Korea, Indonesia) and representatives of Management Bodies of Global Geoparks with volcanic caves in APGN such as Aso Geopark Japan), Rinjini – Lombok Geopark (Indonesia), Jeju Geopark, Hantangang, Mudongsan, Cheongsong… (Korea) to invite participants and deliver presentations, share experiences on conservation and sustainable exploitation of values cave at ISV20 in November 2022.
