Being recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark is the pride not only of the government and people of Dak Nong province but also contributing to enhance Vietnam’s position in the world, giving motivation for the sustainable socio-economic development in Dak Nong province according to the United Nations’ criteria.
Considering the commitment level of members to the sustainable development criteria of UNESCO and the Global Geoparks Network, according to the plan from June 26-30, 2023, experts: Mr. Jianping Zhang – Vice Chairman of IUGS International Commission on Geoheritage, Vice Chairman of UNESCO Global Geoparks Council and Mr. Marekazu Ohno – Member of the Geoparks Sub-Committee, Japan National Commission for UNESCO will come to inspect fields, record and report to the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council the results of the activities of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark 4 years after being recognized.
In order to ensure the program to welcome the experts delegation, the preparation work from facilities, content, human, schedule, welcome program, related documents, logistics, etc. under close supervision of the Provincial People’s Committee with the companionship of all branches and localities basically has been completed, especially the active support of the people in the Geopark area.
