After 3 days of revalidation at Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark, on the morning of June 30, 2023, the Dak Nong People’s Committee held a meeting to receive the preliminary assessment and some recommendations of UNESCO experts.
At the meeting, UNESCO experts highly appreciated the support and commitment of local authorities in the development of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark over the past time. In addition, the expert team was also impressed with the positivity of the Geopark partner network and the local community in preserving and promoting the Dak Nong Geopark’s values. With the current effective management model of Dak Nong UGGp, the expert team believes that Dak Nong province will achieve great progress in the coming time.
Sharing with the difficulties that Dak Nong has experienced during the covid epidemic, the expert team recommended that Dak Nong province should strengthen the promotion of Dak Nong UGGp in major markets outside the Dak Nong province such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi… ; promote investment in some infrastructure at key sites in the Geopark; build strategy to cooperate with local partners so that people can really benefit from the UNESCO Global Geopark brand; strengthen scientific research to add new values to the Geopark. At the same time, popularize scientific information to bring Geopark values closer to local people and tourists.
